Allgood pleads guilty to drink driving (AAP) - ( 4U5TR4L14 )

Parramatta Eels forward Mitchell Allgood has pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving after Mad Monday celebrations.

Allgood, 24, recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.131 when he was stopped by police driving a black Holden ute in suburban Parramatta, about 7.40pm on September 9, according to court papers.

The offence followed Mad Monday celebrations after the Eels final round loss to the Newcastle Knights on September 8.

On Monday, Allgood’s lawyer, Murugan Thangaraj, SC, entered a plea of guilty to the charge on his client’s behalf at Parramatta Local Court.

The court was told Allgood was enrolled in a traffic offenders’ program, but hadn’t yet completed it.

Magistrate Roger Brown adjourned the matter for sentence at the same court on December 18.

The court was told Allgood’s driver’s licence suspension would “remain in force”.

According to court papers, Allgood allegedly told police he “had been drinking beer from sometime Sunday night until sometime” Monday night.

He is alleged to have told police he had “no idea” how many drinks he had consumed.

Police claim Allgood told them he was “just looking for his girlfriend who went for a run at Parramatta park” when he was stopped.
