Geelong set up a preliminary final date with Hawthorn with an emphatic come-from-behind 16-point win over Port Adelaide at the MCG on Friday night.
The 13.18 (96) to 12.8 (80) loss ended a frenetic season for the less-fancied Power, who took the Cats all the way in front of 52,744 vocal fans.
Port Adelaide lead by a goal after one quarter before firing to a 25-point lead at half-time.
But Geelong surged back into contention with a five-goal showing in the third quarter to lead by seven points going into the final period.
The Cats pushed as far as 30 points ahead in the fourth stanza, before Port showed glimmers of the most unlikely comeback late on.
Justin Westoff goaled from deep in the pocket with a remarkable kick, before Hamish Hartlett made it a 10-point game with a rapid follow-up a minute later.
But the Cats foiled whatever plot the Power was trying to hatch, intercepting in midfield to set up a game-clinching goal for Steven Motlop.
More to follow.
