A semi-trailer has crashed into the front yard of a Blue Mountains home, stopping just metres from the house with a man, woman and child inside.
No one was injured in the accident, but the driver has been taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory blood and urine samples.
The semi-trailer crashed into a power pole on the Great Western Highway, cutting it in half, before continuing down the highway, stopping in the front yard of a home, just metres from the front of the house.
The truck ruptured a gas main, forcing the evacuation of two homes in the area.
The gas main has been clamped and is expected to be repaired later on Tuesday.
All lanes of the Great Western Highway are open.
Police are investigating.
