Two people have been found guilty of the murder of Gold Coast police officer Damian Leeding.
The 35-year-old Detective Senior Constable was shot and later died after trying to stop an armed robbery at the Pacific Pines Tavern in May 2011.
Phillip Graeme Abell, 41, and Donna Lee McAvoy, 39, were facing the Supreme Court in Brisbane over his death.
Abell and McAvoy both pleaded not guilty, with their defence lawyer saying they had acted in self-defence.
Justice James Douglas summarised the evidence heard during the two-week trial this morning before sending the jury to deliberate.
Assistant Police Commissioner Paul Wilson had tears in his eyes after the guilty verdict was read out in court.
Abell and McAvoy will be sentenced on Friday.
